Sliced perpendicular through the heart of an ambrosia maple trunk and finished at our Silverhill workshop, this extraordinary piece reveals what most wood never shows: the full story of a tree laid bare, ring by ring, from the inside out. Concentric growth rings sweep outward from the center in warm honey and tan tones, interrupted by a dramatic starburst of dark spalting lines that radiate in every direction like a compass rose drawn by nature. The effect is nothing short of mesmerizing — part topographic map, part celestial event, entirely unrepeatable.

Natural bark clings to the lower edge, preserved as a reminder of what this once was and where it came from. The organic teardrop silhouette follows the tree’s own contours, tapered and rounded in ways that no saw could plan. At a full 2 inches thick and over 31 inches tall, it has presence that fills a room.
